Removing the Barrier to Breaking Through

"It needs to be said that what makes the difference between a life of possibilities and a life of doomed tragedy, is the state of a persons’ mindset. Mindset is the key to the gateway of all possibilities. When we believe something is possible, it is possible—and when we think something is impossible, then it is impossible. Why should we condemn ourselves for a lifetime of misery when all we have to do is search our hearts, examine the beliefs that are holding us back, and then make the commitment to take the first step to remove the barriers that we place upon ourselves. Be teachable. Remain coachable. Have flexibility and have an open mind. During the tough times find everything you can be grateful for. Maintaining a grateful disposition will keep you in tune with the song in your heart and on path to your vision of life."

"Everyone has a dream living deep in his or her heart. It takes a driven soul to find their path, persevere, and follow through on the steps that can make things happen. However, along this path you may find negative people in your life that bring you down. Being around negative people is a draining experience. Although they may not have the intention to bring you down, their negativity can rob you of your joy, your hopes, your positive outlook for the future, and it can be contagious if you are not mindful of what is going on." -S- True Independent Music Show - Episode 42

"The sun's energy warms the world.
But when you focus it through a magnifying glass it can start a fire.
Focus is so powerful!"

--Alan Pariser--

It is no secret. Everyday, we receive mass messages, advertisements, offers to join something, and opportunities that may conflict with the important priorities in our lives. It becomes easier to lose sight of what is important to us, and then we become at risk of allowing the years begin to roll by without accomplishing what we want most out of life. Losing focus is detrimental to success and achieving a sense of personal fulfillment.

To get what we want out of life, we need to know what we want and then FOCUS on the steps to get there.

Having a Sense of Vision

Joel A. Barker once said,
"Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world."

Vision is one of those intangible things that, although you cannot physically see it, the effect of having a sense of vision is undeniable and empowering. We could do and accomplish far more with a sense of vision than we ever could expect to achieve without it.

Sometimes, the lessons we must learn come only after we face and overcome our deepest fears. Making mistakes in life can often be an uncomfortable experience. We might deal with feelings of guilt, disappointment, or just get mad at ourselves when we realize that we made a mistake—major or minor. We might beat ourselves up on the inside with a lot of negative self-talk, and we only hurt ourselves as life begins to manifest the negative things we are feeling. If you are finding yourself in this situation, please stop now! What you are doing is harmful to your body, mind, and soul.

The Key to Achieving What We Want in Life

The Key to Getting What We Want Begins with a Proactive Mind.

It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day business of life. Often times, we can get so wrapped up in our own world and in our own way of thinking that we lose sight of the things that matter most. As the days, weeks, and months pass us by, we find ourselves at a crossroads and then we realize that we are not where we want to be. We ask ourselves,"How did I get here?"

I often read Stephen Coveys' 7 Habits of Highly Effective People because it helps me to refocus my energy, sharpen my resolve, and gather my personal resources, especially during times when life gets so hectic. In this episode, I share my reflections about what I have read in hopes that it may somehow resonate with others.
